Australian/New Zealand Electrical Equipment (EESS) regime implementation
At the biannual Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council (ERAC) meeting in May, ERAC members confirmed that 1 July 2012 is no longer a viable date for implementation, as some ERAC members will need more time to pass the necessary legislation through their respective Parliaments. Energy Safety advises everyone involved in reconstruction in Christchurch to be aware that work on any part of a gas installation, including the flue, is likely to be gasfitting that may only be done by a licensed gasfitter.

Non-Compliance found with Marina Audits
