November meeting The last meeting was the Annual General Meeting.
This month’s meeting
This month’s meeting will be a technical visit, so we will not be meeting at the normal meeting venue. The Porirua Hospital has a collection of old electrical equipment which was used for the treatment of hospital patients over the years. This equipment is contained in a museum in the grounds of the Porirua Hospital, I’m assured that there some car parking outside of the museum.

WHERE: PORIRUA HOSPITAL MUSEUM
From Raiha Street Porirua, at the highest point, enter the Porirua Hospital main entry and then go about 500 metres past the new buildings until the museum building is reached. The museum is well labelled.
WHO: Mr Bruce Shephard, Curator of the museum will show us around.
WHEN: WEDNESDAY 15TH FEBUARY 2012 AT 7-30 PM
This is a visit a little different form the field that most of us work in, it should be an interesting visit.

Refresher courses this year
There have been some major changes made by the EWRB to the requirements for refresher courses.
The main changes are;
1. Need to produce your current EWRB practising licence + Government Photo ID (drivers licence OK) as verification of your identity,
2. New course material, need to cover sections 5 and 8 of the Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000 + amd 1 & A).in detail and some limited parts of Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010 + amendment No. 1
3. A short examination (Multi-choice answers) questions will be given during course presentation. Note: Minimum mark required to pass refresher course requirements.
4. Start time of the course may be different, details of this changes are currently being worked out.
Details will be given shortly.
The branch will be providing refresher courses for practising licence renewals for members (no cost if 2011/12 branch subscription has been paid) and for workmates who are not members (for a fee) during May and June next year.
